Introducing the Co-sponsor of
APAO 2024 Congress

This year, we are
very pleased to welcome the Academia Ophthalmologica
Internationalis (AOI) as Co-sponsor of the APAO 2024
Congress in Bali, Indonesia, co-hosted by the Indonesian
Ophthalmologists Association (IOA).
AOI traces its origin
to the Act of Foundation signed March 7, 1975. It is
organized and operated to conserve the ethics and
preserve the history of ophthalmology, to enhance
education in ophthalmology and allied fields, and to
promote and advance the science and art of ophthalmology
among all peoples and nations. It is a
university-centered international organization committed
to excellence in education, research, and culturally
appropriate medical services to preserve and restore
vision for people of the world. Currently, AOI’s Active
and Emeritus membership represents 33 countries around
the world.
At the 2024 APAO
Congress, AOI will present three symposiums, further
enriching the program with their expertise.

Comprised of
authoritative experts, top professors, and accomplished
clinicians, our Scientific Program Committee is fully
committed to developing a world-class scientific
program. Through targeted research, clinical skills, and
state-of-the-art methodologies, this distinguished group
strives to bring expertise that benefits not only
Indonesia but also the broader Asia Pacific community in
the field of eye care.
There are going to be
19 ophthalmic subspecialty programs that encompass a
wide range of areas within the field. These programs
will offer training in fundamental, intermediate, and
advanced skills, as well as focus on the latest and most
relevant topics in ophthalmology.
This year, we have
introduced two new subspecialty programs, namely
"Myopia" and "Ocular Trauma." These programs have been
specifically designed to tackle emerging concerns in the
field and offer participants a comprehensive range of
