Welcome Message from Local Host

  Issue 8 - January 2024

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association - PERDAMI, it is a great pleasure and honor to warmly welcome you to the 39th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center from 22 – 25 February 2024 in Bali.

The development of medical technology in the field of ophthalmology and eye health services continues to change. Continuing education and training in all forms of development is crucial and important, to update their competencies and to provide the service quality and developments that all our members and all participants thrive on. Therefore, PERDAMI always supports all efforts to organize the seminars, congresses, courses, and trainings, which are ultimately aimed at reducing the global threat of vision impairment and avoidable blindness.

Furthermore, these activities of the 39th APAO Congress are critical to sharing ideas about how we can best advocate for our patients and improve eye health in our communities. We are able to meet and discuss with the experts in ophthalmology around the world and representatives from the boards of APAO, AAO, ICO and NEI.

This is the second APAO scientific meeting which will be held offline after the Covid-19 pandemic. Certainly, this meeting is eagerly awaited by participants, to meet friends and colleagues from all over the world.

Finally, I would like to thank all the speakers and the participants for your contribution to the congress. I wish you all great enjoyment and a wonderful stay in Bali!

With best regards,
