The annual APAO
Congress proudly recognizes exceptional ophthalmologists
who have advanced eye care in the Asia-Pacific region
and beyond. At the 2025 Congress, we are thrilled to
present five named awards to distinguished achievers in
the field.
In addition to four
existing accolades, this year we are introducing the
inaugural Dennis Lam Award, which honors individuals
with outstanding academic excellence and significant
contributions to our official academic publication, the
Asia-Pacific Journal of
Ophthalmology (APJO). The award is named
after Prof. Dennis LAM, former President and
Secretary-General of APAO, and the founding & current
Editor-in-Chief of APJO.

professional insights at their award lectures during the
Congress!
Young ophthalmologists
from across the Asia-Pacific whose abstracts have been
selected by the
YO Standing Committee
will have the opportunity to present their innovative
work at the YO Symposium. This event will also feature a
panel discussion on the theme “The Future of YO Around
the World”, and a ceremony to honor the recipients of
various YO Awards.

Delegates who missed the original deadline of

letters by February 2025.
If you have
already submitted your form by October 2024, you
should be able to receive the supporting letters
from our local host by the end of December 2024.
