Welcome
Message from Prof. Tetsuro OSHIKA
President, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology
Dear
Colleagues and Friends,
I am delighted to see
you all in the beautiful city of Phnom Penh and welcome
you to this momentous occasion—the 23rd Cambodian
Ophthalmological Society (COS) Annual Congress in
conjunction with the 4th Asia-Pacific Academy of
Ophthalmology (APAO) Satellite Congress.
This event perfectly
exemplifies the close collaboration between APAO and its
member societies, particularly our valued partnership
with the COS. Following two successful satellite
congresses in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, as well as an online edition
co-hosted with our colleagues in Iran, we are honored to
bring this educational initiative to Cambodia for the
first time.
Since its launch in
2018, the APAO Satellite Congress has served as an
invaluable platform to provide cutting-edge
ophthalmology education and scientific updates to
ophthalmologists and visual scientists in our member
organizations. In each event, the program is customized
to address the needs of the local community in the host
country, with the long-term goal of elevating the
standards of patient care across the whole Asia-Pacific
region.
I hope that each of
you will benefit from the rich professional exchanges
during this comprehensive full-day conference. Through
engaging presentations and interactive discussions, we
aim to foster knowledge sharing that enhances clinical
and surgical skills and introduces innovative treatment
approaches. By working together, we will advance the
quality of ophthalmic services throughout Cambodia and
beyond.
Last but not least, I
would like to extend special congratulations to Asst.
Prof. Chukmol Kossama on her historic achievement as the
first female president of COS. At APAO, we look forward
to closer cooperation with COS under her visionary
leadership as we join forces to attain more
breakthroughs in our field.
May this congress
inspire continued collaboration and excellence in
ophthalmology. Thank you for your participation!
With warm regards,
Prof. Tetsuro
