Since 2008, the APAO
Leadership Development Program
(LDP) has nurtured 214 graduates from 26
countries and territories. Many of them have since
taken up leadership roles in their institutions and
societies and are active in driving progress in
ophthalmology across the Asia-Pacific.
At APAO 2026, the LDP
will host a series of exciting events connecting
alumni and new participants.

As the
14th LDP Class is concluding, its 19
participants will present their Graduating Projects
to Congress delegates. Let’s hear their innovative
initiatives in patient care, education, research,
advocacy, and leadership in these sessions!

presentations, the LDP Standing Committee warmly
invites all alumni and friends to the LDP Alumni
Reception. Distinguished speakers will share their
insights, and participants of the LDP Class XIV
(2025–2026) will celebrate their achievements at the
Graduation Ceremony.

Café: Speed Mentoring
What’s more, the LDP
World Café will offer young ophthalmologists a
unique chance to meet globally renowned mentors.
Through engaging in dynamic, small-group discussions
with leaders from diverse subspecialties, you will
gain insights into leadership, career growth, and
professional development.
