Kyrgyz Society of Ophthalmology

The Kyrgyz Society of Ophthalmology was established in 1995. Currently, there are 280 practicing ophthalmologists and 90 residents. Three state medical universities in the country graduate residents annually.

The mission of our society is to reduce blindness in Kyrgyzstan by creating a supportive environment for ophthalmology specialists. We aim to enhance the professionalism of our members, protect their rights and interests, and promote the comprehensive development of ophthalmological science.

The Kyrgyz Society of Ophthalmology convenes four conferences annually dedicated to the discussions on current problems and challenges in the field. Additionally, the Society conducts extensive public health education work among the population and promotes the implementation of new diagnostic technologies and treatments for eye diseases.
