PROGRAM OUTLINE
1. Selected Scientific Programs
The 2009 – 2010 Class participated the following sessions in the 24th APAO Congress in Bali, Indonesia.
- APAO Leadership Development Program Inauguration Symposium [OE-S3];
- AAO Leadership in Medicine [OE-S1];
- ICO How to Tackle Problems in Developing Countries [PB-S1].
2. Induction Session
The induction session was held on May 17, 2009, at the 24th APAO Congress. The Program Committee welcomed the participants. Dr Bruce Spivey, ICO President, and Dr Michael Brennan, AAO President, gave their encouragement to the future leaders.
Dr Zelia Correa, Dr Mary Lawrence, Dr Sundaram Natarajan and Dr Jun S Wong shared their experience on leadership programs and their advice on the self-initiated projects.
3. Self-initiated Project
Each participant was required to plan and execute a self-initiated project, and they were to forward their project briefs and propose a mentor to the Central Secretariat by a stipulated deadline (January 16, 2010). A mentor was assigned to each participant to provide personal guidance.
4. LDP Graduate and Self-Initiated Projects
The following participants presented and graduated from the program on September 19, 2010, at the 25th APAO Congress in Beijing, China.
